  If I asked for a loan from the WBTS would they give it to me?

  if this were the "organization" that jesus chose in 1914.. err 1919, wouldn't the principles that he laid out while on earth apply to this organization as well?.

  matthew 5:42 "give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.".

  so if jw's all asked for loans from the org, every now and then, it would be the orgs responsibility to grant those loans (interest free).

  In the 41 years I was a Jehovah's Witnesses, I purchased books,magazines, donated money, paid for gas for service and getting to every meeting. I also cleaned my local Kingdom Hall and cleaned at Circuit Assemblies. I purchased chairs ( that we paid for ) when our hall was remodeled.

  What did the WTBTS give me in return? NOTHING!

  As a matter of fact, yes they do! There are Missions that provide food, shelter and clothing. They help people with rent and provide food banks. They provide clothing for people that have no shelter due to a fire or lost their house due to financial problems.

  My mother-in-law lives in a senior complex where Catholic Charities pays for most of the rent since she has a very limited income. They have vans transport them to places for no fee.

  I had an employee of mine lose his home due to foreclosure. Catholic Charities found him an apartment and paid for it until he got back on his feet.

  In the 41 years I attended the Kingdom Hall, not once did I see a soup kitchen, clothes provided or any money handed to brothers or sisters due to financial hardship. No donations were ever taken up for any cause unless it was for brothers who were in a disaster. Who knows how much of that was sent? Who knows what they do with all the money?

  Where is the donation box in the back of every Kingdom Hall that goes for food,clothing or shelter? Every box goes to the WTBTS!

  Baptised 1976....16 years old...I was told that the ''end'' was near and only baptised members would survive

  left 1978.... I was only 18 and would rather hang out with friends than sit in a Kingdom Hall

  came back 1980...what a mistake

  no more than 8 hours field service

  gave # 3 talks.....Elders took me off talks after missing too many meetings

  Elders took me off the mics and sound after missing too many meetings

  stopped field service in 1985

  stopped attending book study 1988

  Elders visited me numerous times to try to attend more meetings and field service

  have not been to any district assembly or any assembly since 2001

  attended 6 meetings in 2010....4 meetings in 2011....0 in 2012....0 in 2013....0 in 2014

  Elders have not visited me in 4 years....they gave up on me

  I'm never going back!

  Could the family come and stay a while - lets say an hour and then leave? Then the cousin and his guest could come and enjoy the dancing and cutting of the cake etc...

  My disfellowshipped cousin was not invited to his sister's wedding reception dinner( she and her husband are witnesses ) but came around 10:00 p.m. when dinner was over and stayed until reception was over. But in Jehovah's Witness land and different Kingdom Halls all over the world things change from moment to moment.

  I would like to ask any former Elders if this would be a good idea?

  My cousin was told by the Elders that it would be best if he would not attend the luncheon that was prepared after his own mother was buried. I was standing right next to him when they asked him to leave. His own grandfather told him that if he didn't leave many of the Witnesses would leave. So, he left with his girlfriend and went home. I was so upset that I went out to eat somewhere else instead of staying. I invited my cousin to come but he refused.

  Wanderlust

  There were two Elders in my congregation who were made to resign because they didn't walk out of a wedding dinner that was attended by a couple of disfellowshipped members. They stayed the whole night and avoided the disfellowshipped members.

  They were made to resign as Elders since they were '' eating '' in the same room and should of known better.

  Does my family need to know that my disfellowshipped cousin will be attending the wedding reception? Do we not tell the family and have all of them leave once they see him sitting at a table?

  My daughter will be getting married this coming August. She and her future husband are not Jehovah's Witnesses. They will have a non-religious wedding ceremony. Then,there will be dinner at a banquet hall.

  She is making a list of wedding invites. My cousin (who has been disfellowshipped for over 10 years ) will be invited. He has not been invited to any family gatherings since being disfellowshipped. At his mother's funeral, he couldn't sit in the front seats with his family.He was made to stand on the side by the front row. Many Witnesses didn't even approach him to offer their condolences. After the burial, he was told by the Elders that it would be best if he not attend the luncheon.

  My daughter and her future husband are great friends with my disfellowshipped cousin and his girlfriend. Now comes the dilemma!

  My family has 2 Elders and over 20 Jehovah's Witnesses that would not attend the banquet hall dinner if they found out my disfellowshipped cousin was invited. It's not fair that my daughter has to exclude him from attending the wedding dinner. If she invites him and doesn't tell the family, they will walk out of the banquet hall as soon as they see him. If my family is not told, they will take it out on me since I would know who's coming to the banquet hall dinner.

  What would be a good solution?

  If you and the rest of us were so convinced that the WTBTS had the '' truth ", why are you so sure now it isn't? Which conviction was stronger ? The part that thought you had the '' truth'' or the thought that it was '' false and a lie? ''

  i like to get stuff done in the morning and do my own thing later.. i really hated the afternoon meeting.

  you had no time to do sod all.

  not even eat a decent lunch with a glass of wine!!.

  We shared our KH with 3 other congregations. Each congregation would switch times every January 1st. The Sunday meetings would start at 9:30 a.m. , 12:00 p.m. , 3:00 p.m. , and the last at 5:30 p.m.

  The 9:30 a.m. meeting was the easiest to attend as you would be home by 11:30 a.m. You would have all day to do anything you pleased.

  The 12:00 p.m. meeting let you sleep in and still have some time in late afternoons and evenings.

  The 3:00 p.m. meeting wouldn't let you do much in the afternoon and if you were lucky you might be home by 6:00 p.m. Then it would be too late to go anywhere.

  The 5:30 p.m. meeting was the worst. You had the mornings and afternoons to yourself. But you needed to eat dinner, shower and get dressed by 4:30 p.m. and leave at 5:00 p.m. Then the meeting started at 5:30 p.m. and would end at 7:30 p.m. By the time you made it home, it would be 8:30 p.m. Then you would just stay at home since it was too late to go anywhere.

  The 5:30 p.m. meeting was the end for me. The WTBTS doesn't care about what your needs and plans are for your family time or your day off from work.
